I know many writers aren't specifying, but I really appreciate it when the reccers state whether the stories are book or movieverse if known. I've read all the books and seen the movie and while I love both, Watson, Holmes, Mary, Irene (especially), and the tone definitely differ between the two and in the subsequent fic. If I go into a story with one source in mind, and it was created based on the other, I get thrown out of the story and have to start again.

Personal preference that doesn't apply to everyone, I know. But thanks for the help:)

We can try to make a note where the author has specified it or where it's obvious. But often, it's a mixture of canons, I found.

I just wanted to thank you so much for doing this. As a newbie to this fandom this rec comm has been very helpful. I also really appreciate the level of detail y'all give to the rec's instead of saying here go read you're synopses are really very helpful XD Hmm now I need to get a H/W icon to round out the new fandom love.

You are very welcome! Like you, we haven't been around this fandom for very long and missed a place where we could go to in order to find some good stuff without wading through all the posts in the communities. :D
