Yay for relaxing days! Mine was good and mellow as well. My only complaint would be that the thunderstorm only lasted about 10 minutes.
At some point, you and Jess and I should probably discuss the wedding or something. Like... if you'd like me to read any specific passages of various spiritual tomes / Herman Melville novels / Thor comic books etc, or if you're gonna write your own vows, or if you just want the basic short and sweet "Dearly beloved, blah blah blah, you may now make out" spiel or what.
The ring is apparently so hard because silly cows demand something like 4 month's pay in terms of value, which I find utterly ridiculous. They also (apparently) expect the guy to know exactly what they want, when most men (that I know, anyways) wouldn't have the foggiest about jewelry, let alone something their SO might love for the rest of her life.
Wade and I went together and chose our own rings, and spent about $100 on each in the process. It was easy, and much, much better than winging it.
See, 4 months salary is just nuts. Admittedly, that's pretty sad for me at the moment, but that's why I got Jess a pewter ring with a picture of a diamond on it for an "engagement ring"
She actually got an old ring of her grandmother's, so we're just going to put an amethyst in it and call it a day.

Talk it over and email with any ideas you've got.
