At virtually the last minute yesterday, I was told there was one week left of OfficeOps live radio. 1. When one song is playing, prepare for the next song by putting on the side you want and getting the record up to speed.
2. Find where the song you want starts by listening for the end of the song that comes before it on the record.
3. When you find the spot, lift the arm off the turntable using the "cue" botton (or whatever button it is), which keeps the record spinning but lifts the arm.
4. When the first song finishes, press the cue button again to drop the arm back on the record. With a little practice, you can get seamless song transitions.

Since I keep bitching about the cost of nuptial festivities, it seems hypocritical of me to contemplating spending $300 on such a thing. But maybe the skies will lighten soon.
BJ--I tried much the same technique you described above. But this turntable was like a Flinstones model, with a little bird saying 'It's a living!' for a tone arm. Also, not being really familiar with this equipment threw me into a sorta performance anxiety panic. If I had more time to play with it, I'm sure I woulda gotten better. In summary, it was a dumb thing to do for a last-minute show.
