I've been following the whole Karl Rove/Leaking National Security Secrets for Freedom Scandal in a way I usually reserve for off-season trade rumors. I love how desperate the spin machine is getting. As near as I can tell, the current party line is this:

"No, don't you see, Rove is a Hero Whistle Blower for exposing Plame, which he didn't do because she was already exposed and, by the way, she was never exposed."

Of course, digesting the fireballs being lobbed from the right is giving me a headache, but its a headache that's been simmering for a couple of years as I waited for this thing to bite the administration right in the ass. I knew this day was coming.

Scott McClellan, bless his beady eyes, hasn't held a gaggle in a couple of days.

I'm a bit perturbed today by the latest spin, that Rove heard about Plame's agent status from the press itself (WTF?). This is the only counter-spin I think will really work, since the public hates The Media (c) so much. There was, however, an interesting article written by John Dean here in which he expounds on a means by which Rove could be prosecuted even if he simply sticks with his current spin. And in a bit of delicious irony, it would be through a precedent set by Ashcroft's justice dept.
