i agree with you about the bitching thing (from your last post)....im still pretty bitter about not getting leadership my junior year. who the fuck died and made emily packard a rank leader? yeah...since thats humane.

i worried a lot about what nielsen would think of me if i wasn't in marching band anymore, but i realized that it really shouldn't matter. i mean, im sure he would've liked you to be a drum major or have a leadership position, but his expectations can't be that high, ya know? you're only a freshman! you got plenty of time to sock those bitches in the jaw. ha.

Hey, don't be down about the whole thing. You're only a freshman. I know that shouldn't matter, skills-wise, but it does. When it comes to picking drum majors and other leadership, favoritism has a lot to do with it. I wish it wasn't like that, and they claim it's not, but the truth is... it is like that. Do some brown-nosing (I'd suggest Bush... Falcone can be a little moody sometimes), and see what happens. Don't be outward about it, though... Do little things here and there to make small, but good, impressions. They remember stuff like that.

Stay determined. Always believe that you can achieve anything if you really want it. Keep at it, and things will eventually fall into place.
