Summer of lost friends

Champ (my dog) was put to sleep this morning. In addition to his continual falling apart, while I was in Minnesota he had gone completely blind--walking into walls, stumbling down stairs. It was very sad. But he had a long and sometimes-good life, so, oh well. I am glad he's not suffering

losing a pet is hard, even with the knowledge that they were suffering.
