06. [multi] April and May icon update
April wasn't particularly an active month for me but I quite liked some of the icons I made, for a change. As I alluded to in the previous post, it's not like May was much better - there was more change and the new work project I got sent to was (and is) a sinking ship. Add that to my sprained left ankle and... fuuuun! But May is my birthday month so I have an actual soft spot for it -- thus why I tried to enter a couple of bigger challenges then. (Like how I entered a character20n20 in May despite it being a chaotic month as well, ha ;D).

something you've never ironed before[babbling]- Pitch! A show I was obsessed with back when it was airing. I feel like Mike and Ginny made me realize I could still ship things hard and within a few episodes. (A few weeks after the show ended, I found another OTP for my hall of fame and... the rest is history.) But this definitely came before I started making icons again· Given Texture · Blending[more babbling]- Passenger/Mike, who I love so very much. Both cap s are from the Hell or High Water music video. He's amazing and so good live. Just about the one saving grace from this month.

I love all the techniques in here so this was a fun set to make :D I tried iconing things I don't usually work with despite my loving them. (I'm behind Good Girls because I watched with my mom on Netflix. Otherwise, I'm caught up.)

I don't think I'm good with stock and always wonder where people get all the pretty caps you can play with. And in case you're wondering, 'vibrant color'!Hodgins was the icon that would've been first in the alternates row at the previous post had I not realized it worked really well for my birthday choice's quick battle, hehe.

[some thoughts]It was such an interesting bingo card if I wasn't particularly inspired at the time... then again, I feel like I've lost a bit of my muse lately because of work but if I don't make anything, I feel like I get rusty fast. I can't remember well now but I'm pretty sure this was one of those posts where I wanted to have as few fandoms as possible and then just became a 'let's make it color-consistent.' Which I almost got, kind of - lots of orange and blue. IDK.

loved this challenge's theme so much I could've easily made a full 7-10 icon set! Maybe, if I ever have free time again (certainly not in my current project), I'll consider it for a mini batch.
[more babbling]The inspo/given caps were lovely and a great reminder of many gorgeous shots there are around this theme. Idk, I'm always a sucker for those kind of caps and scenes in shows, whether they're romantic or platonic or something in between. The n-ex cap is technically a spoiler for me since we've only watched season 1 but I just loved the look of it. I also really, really like the show and I had to get it in there.

[more thoughts]This was an actual difficult choice! B99 would've definitely been the third one (and my favorite current crime show). And like I mentioned on that post, god, I've loved (and still really like) procedurals in my time, ha. I don't think I'd consider that many to be my favorites but close enough. (Broadchurch is recent but god, it was so gut-wrenching and beautifully filmed and just... incredibly compelling.)
