What I like about the idea of karma is that nobody is pulling the strings except you, in ways that you can or cannot see. So when you slip, you laugh and right yourself gently. It's easier for me to get back on the wagon when I don't need to feel guilty and reduced for falling off.

It's moving day!

I can't believe how I landed this new job. I had applied at a physical therapist's office for a part-time position as an Aide. That Aide position became part-time clerical, and that clerical position became full-time medical secretary with benefits by yesterday. I am working 8-5 for $11.00 an hour, which is better starting money than I have ever ( Read more... )

Last night I felt scared because, sitting alone on the couch in a house I won't share with my dad and lynn much longer, my life seemed like a weird dream. Did I really go on those trips? Thursday was my mom's birthday. Today is my stepmom's birthday. My mom is in Las Vegas, finishing up the semester with 5 different levels of Spanish about to move to San Antonio and look for a new job in a field she likes more. Beside the fireplace there is a little wooden door with a crosspiece. I think it was meant for storing firewood, but scrabbling sounds suggest that it is currently the basement residence of either a squirrel or a bird.
