Mini-apocalypse

Yesterday, the day before I left town, Philadelphia got nailed by the worst storm I've ever been through. It came out of nowhere. One minute it was 95 degrees and sunny, the next it had completely clouded over, hail was falling, and 60 mph winds (or so the news later said) were whipping through the city. I think you're special, but I don't think the weather patterns do. ;)

We don't get freak storms like that here, since thunder/lightning/tornadoes/heat/humidity/tropical weather influences are rare (although they do happen...we do sometimes get remnants from a tropical storm or depression), but the weather can change absurdly quick. I guess we get more of it in the winter.

It's upsetting when I see or hear about old growth trees or buildings damaged. The beauty and history is impressive, and to see it destroyed so quickly, it's...sad.
