Yesterday I took my 13 year old and her friend to Ann Arbor to do the walk-a-thon for the LUNGevity Foundation.  When I heard about LUNGevity, I hadn't realized that lung cancer kills more people than any other kind of cancer.  I keep hearing about people (including a guy I went to college with) who have lung cancer who never smoked.  That always ( Read more... )

The mitzvah projects are one of the nicest aspects of the whole Bar/Bat Mitzvah process.

I think so too. My daughter was really scared about interacting with the people at the kosher food bank at first (they are basically old and poor), but after we worked there for a while she really liked it. I'm going to take my son there as well.
