"That's not to say that I'm unafraid at the prospects that I could...be up to my eyeballs in debt"

Dear boy, this is a certainty. You're already in a fairly significant amount of debt, and starting a new law firm straight out of law school - in this economy, no less - sounds insane (or maybe it just might be the gutsy, brilliant move you'll tell your grandchildren about nine-hundred times), but mind-boggling debt is most assuredly in your future, given your choices, so get used to that and get over it. It's always better to take a risk and fail than to spend the rest of your life wondering "what if", and honestly, being in debt isn't the end of the world. You don't come from money anyway, and it doesn't seem like big money is a part of your life ambition in the first place, so why worry about something you don't really care about anyway? You'll be fine.

I hate to sound condescending, but I'm proud of you. I really am.
