[ Personality ] :
Junpei is supposed to be the character that helps draw the audience into the game, and thus is the most "normal" (at least as teenage boys can be) character in SEES. Like any average teenage boy, Junpei loves the ladies. He fancies himself a lady's man although in actuality, he's not really as suave as he thinks he is. His ladies' man act often irritates women, especially Yukari, and causes others to think he is an immature pervert.

Junpei is not exactly the brightest light bulb on the team. He's given the nickname "Stupei" for a reason. Junpei acts like a goof to get attention, which makes him seem silly (and perhaps less intelligent) to others. In reality, he plays the clown in order to make himself feel like less of a loser.

He likes playing hero in Tartarus because otherwise, he's got a boringly normal life. Junpei plays video games, which probably feeds into his hero complex. Unfortunately, Junpei plays video games so much that it is a detriment to his schoolwork.

Junpei is not as good at fighting as older members of SEES like Akihiko and Mitsuru. As such, Junpei is not a skilled swordsman and wields his sword like a baseball bat when in battle. Although perhaps not the most efficient style of fighting, his baseball bat-style works well enough to cut a few shadows in half.

Junpei is eager to be the best, which often leads him to make rash and dangerous decisions. He doesn't think twice about running off from the party if he thinks something needs to be done. His fiery, rash nature is mirrored by his initial persona, Hermes. Hermes the persona has fire magic and is named for a god known for speed.

Since Junpei's life is so average, he gets a bit jealous when others in SEES upstage him. He especially dislikes playing second fiddle to the MC, who is his best friend. Junpei initially get very mad that the MC is the team leader, but eventually realizes that the MC is doing a better job than he would have done and apologizes.

Like most of the members of SEES, Junpei does not get along all that well with his parents. Junpei's father is a violent alcoholic, which is another reason that Junpei was so glad to join SEES and to live in the SEES dorm. Understandably, Junpei's dad was not a terribly good parent, which has lead Junpei to have an aversion to alcohol. Junpei desperately does not want to be like his dad, which is why he is so afraid of seeming like a loser to everyone. Junpei wants to stand up and be the hero, even if it causes himself harm, instead of abandoning his friends to their fates.

[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
As previously discussed, Junpei has a weakness for ladies. He is quite brave, although often to the point of foolhardiness. Such braveness could also be bravado, as Junpei is really quite unsure of himself on the inside. Junpei is not very good at tactics, preferring to just charge straight in. On a similar note, his leadership skills are a bit... lacking as well. His persona Hermes is weak against wind-type attacks (Garu skills) and strong in physical and fire attacks (Agi skills).

[ Other Important Facts ] :
Junpei will be summoning Hermes in Vatheon during combat. If he can pick up a sword somewhere (or even a baseball bat) he'll probably fight with it as well.

[ Sample ] :
"Yo! Guys?" Junpei definitely wasn't in Kansas, or rather Iwatodai anymore.

He took his sodden baseball cap off his head. "Aww. Come on! This is my favorite hat!" Hopefully the hat wasn't totaled. A soggy hat would ruin his image to any of the ladies around.

Trying to plan what to do next, he jammed his hands into his pockets. "Owwww". Oops. The force of his hand-jamming meant that he quite forcefully jammed his hand into his evoker. "Well. At least I've still got this thing." He wondered if it would work in this place, wherever he was. Did this place even HAVE a Dark Hour? Junpei shuddered at the thought of being stripped of his persona. Man, that would be so uncool.

"...WAIT. If I can't get to school, I don't have to do homework! SCORE!" But speaking of score... What if this place didn't have video games? How was he supposed to live without video games? Junpei was fairly certain that the last time he had gone more than a day without gaming was when he was born.

"Aww man. What am I going to do without video games?" But at least he wouldn't have to put up with Mitsuru's constant nagging to study and stop playing video games. That thought didn't do much to brighten Junpei's spirits, but it helped a little.

Suddenly, Junpei's stomach made a hideous grumbling sound. "I am SOOOOO hungry." Forgetting all his wooes, he rambled off in search of some food.

[ Questions? Comments? Concerns? ] : Nope nope. Thanks Squee and Cal!
