AU where they never played the game.

The only way for Tavros to avoid being culled is for a highblood to claim him as their slave. As his matesprite, Gamzee is the obvious choice for this. But Gamzee is severely squicked by their new found power imbalance and has stopped taking any initiative whatsoever in sex out of fear of Tavros feeling pressured. Tavros has to convince him that he is just as into sex as he was beforehand.

Tavros grimaced; keeping his mouth shut wasn’t the right choice apparently. He was unable to keep his voice completely steady but he did the best he could to explain. “Uh, w-well, it’s just that my four wheel device will, uh, slide when we take off. And, uh, it m-might, uh, crash into something and b-break it. Tavros sunk further into the false calm covering his hysteria as they disembarked. Gamzee offered Canren a curt farewell and immediately turned to the swarm of carpenter drones gathered outside his hive. Canren just smiled as through Gamzee’s ire was the most endearing thing he ever saw and then decided they needed to chat some more. Gamzee made a point of first telling Tavros to go into the hive and put something on, then greeting the lead carpenter drone who was having a fit about the change in schedule, and finally turning to Canren and semi-politely asking if he didn’t have anything better to do ( ... )

Your OC has earned my disgust surprisingly quickly.

I have yet to mention that fact that oh god, the trolls are involved in a rebellion, there is horrible bloodism abound, I love you for this.

Then there's Tavros. I want to wrap him in a blanket and hug him for hours. I've wanted to do that since the beginning of this fic, unsurprisingly, and I love the little world you've crafted.

Apparently my muses agree because this exploded into a full blown knock down drag out AU a long time ago. Lots and lots of pairing centric fics among the genfic of the rebellion and daily life. It's going to be massive.
