Oh I'm a big huge turd, because I missed this somehow. And what a story to miss...so powerful, so filled with hard truths, so true to the intense Mal/Zoe friendship. And yes, she could totally kick his butt!

This was gorgeous. Absolutely ten kinds of beautiful. I love Mal and Zoe, especially in stories where we explore what their dynamic was like during the war, and I love that you've stayed so true to the characters. I could just hear them saying the lines and see them reacting that way. I love that Zoe's just itching for Mal to hit her, and of course the hundan won't. I love that Zoe is SO pragmatic and Mal is SO stubborn. And I especially love Zoe admitting that not only the men need "the myth" of Sergeant Reynolds and the Balls and Bayonets Brigade, but Zoe needs it as well.

I really liked this! I loved Zoe's staunch refusal to let Mal go, and Mal's need to do just that... and as always, Zoe's voice of reason, always there to pull him back when he gets too close to the edge!
