Snowboarding has to be my new favorite hobby. We started off our vacation with Tiffanie chugging AJ (alcoholic juice is what we dubbed it because it was trashcan punch mixed with several other liqours including jager vodka and tequila and it tasted something like OJ with a bite.) before getting on the plane in OKC because of her fear of flying. So Tiff was trashed by the time we got to the gate to wait for our plane. We saw Dennis there waiting for his plane and got ot chat with him until he had to leave. While on the plane to SLC i wrote a great poem that I will be using in my Comp class. We got to SLC and went straight to brighton lodge to snowboard. The guy that taught us beginning lessons was pretty badass and we tipped him well. He taught us how to get down the mountain on a toe side j turn and a heel side j turn. We spent a few house practicing that before Tiffanie got a lil frustrated because shew was having difficulty getting up, and then Tiff, Bill, and I left for good ol' Idaho! We spent the next day relaxing and ate at this amazing place called Buddies! They had kickass salad dressing. I know, your thinking 'It's just frikking salad dressing.' but really it was the best damend salad dressing I've ever had. We hit the slopes with my sister-in-law chelle the next dday and she taught us how to ski. After Tiffanie found that to be impossible, she waited in the lodge, I switched back to the board, and Chelle and I went to the very top of thew mountain to do this supposedly very long very easy trail that went all the way down the long side of the mountain. Some of it was uphill and thats really hard for a snowboarder and i decided to go down the very obviosly hard and steep part that was facing me. It turned out to be a black trail. (thats mountain talk for being very hard.) So the main problem with the trail was that it wasn't very used. Everytime I would hit a mogel (hill) I would find my board covered in 4 feet of snow, and I would have to actually unstrap to dig it out. I got down the hill though, a lot faster than chelle, and I thought I was badass. I immediately went to this very easy green hill and had the worst spill I had all week. I was racing down it because at the time I thought I could take on anything. The hill caught the downhill side of my board and i did a front flip and got the wind knocked out of me ass my board ever so gentally touched my forhead. I got back up after about 10 mins, and kept on a truckin'. The next day I convinced Tiff to take individual beginer lessons while I took intermediate lessons. I learned how to do the S curve, and Tiff learned how to get up and go down the mountain. Over all we had a kickass time, and I wanna get a big snowboarding trip together with the likes of Dan, Matt, DB, Jeremy, Tiff, Sophia, Rondog, and perhaps a few others! I wanna do this in late November or early December. You guys rest on it and get back to me with it! It'll be a rockin' good time!
