Changmin tripped over his own feet and only Yunho's ninja reflexes prevented him from falling face first on the floor. Yunho sighed for the nth time that night and cursed his own luck some more. At first it had seemed like a good idea. What better to mend a broken heart than a few shots of soju? But of course, a few was not enough for Changmin. He had to get totally wasted and ended up needing Yunho's help to get home in one piece.
Changmin put his arms on Yunho's shoulders for support and tucked his face under the older's chin, his breath hitting Yunho's neck in soft, warm puffs. Yunho bit his lower lip and closed his eyes to slow his heartbeat back to normal. With a final deep breath, Yunho opened the door and all but threw the younger to the bed where he landed with a soft thud, bouncing a little. He turned around and was about to leave the bedroom and get the hell out of this place when he heard shifting noises from the bed.
"Hyung?" said Changmin in a deep voice. Yunho came back and sat on the bed, a hand moving to brush Changmin's hair off his eyes right away.
"Yes, Min?"
"Am I not good enough?" he asked lowering his eyes. Yunho felt his stomach clench in a knot, not a foreign reaction since meeting the younger man.
"What the hell made you think that, Changmin-ah? You're perfect," Yunho said, knowing Changmin was drunk enough to not notice the affection in his voice. The same affection Yunho struggled to hide every single day he spent by Shim Changmin's side.
So close and yet so far away.
"It's just..." Changmin trailed off, biting his lower lip and frowning. Yunho shifted a little closer and Changmin shrugged.
"I really thought Jiyeon and I were doing great together, and then she suddenly broke up with me. There's gotta be something I'm doing wrong if all the relationships I've ever had, every single one, have ended the same way."
Yunho remained silent for a while, unable to provide an response better than 'but you're handsome, smart, witty, funny and probably a really good kisser', so he said nothing instead.
After a long silence, Changmin spoke again.
"Hyung?"
"All girls are stupid," Yunho blurted out bitterly and then they fell silent after that. It was Changmin who broke the silence once again.
"How does it feel, Yunho?"
"Huh?"
"Being gay."
Yunho lifted his face and found Changmin's glassy eyes staring straight at him, to his very soul. In one millisecond, his throat felt ten times dryer than before, and he felt his face getting warmer. "Oh...so you knew, then."
"I mean," Changmin started, sitting up till he was face to face with the older man. "What does it feel like to kiss a guy? Is it weird? Or is it better than kissing a girl?"
"Well, I've never kissed a girl before so I wouldn't know. You'll have to figure that out for yourself, I guess. Sorry."
"I see."
Changmin dropped his gaze and Yunho turned away, suddenly finding the curtains rather interesting. After what felt like a thousand years, Changmin's velvet voice reached Yunho's ears.
"Kiss me."
Yunho almost broke his neck for how fast he turned back to Changmin. The younger's eyes were dead serious, if not totally inebriated. Yunho knew he was taking advantage, that he was being completely outrageous, since Changmin was drunk and didn't know what he was asking for. But he had dreamed a thousand times about this. He would be damned if he didn't grasp this chance with both hands.
Slowly, as if reluctantly or something, Yunho climbed on Changmin's lap and took his face with his hands. He could feel his heart hammering in his chest so hard he was afraid it could break a rib. Changmin was looking at him in such a drunken way that he almost wasn't looking him at all. Yunho closed the distance inch by inch and was tempted to close his eyes when Changmin's closed, but he didn't, wanting to see every moment and engrave them in his memory.
--
The next morning, Changmin will wake up wondering how the hell he got to his apartment. He will call Yunho despite the elephant that seemed to have found a new home in his head, and Yunho will tell him he passed out a little after midnight and he had to take him home. Changmin will apologize so many times that Yunho will threaten to hang up the phone if he didn't stop.
He won't remember anything else. But Yunho will.
He will remember the feeling of Changmin's lips on his, the taste of his tongue in his throat when they kissed. The fire of his touch all over his body when they decided clothes were rather unnecessary. The painful pleasure of being filled to the hilt, more than once. The flash of white before his eyes when that oh so desired climax was reached, again, more than once.
To Changmin all of those things never existed, but to Yunho... To him they were those little moments when he reached heaven and happiness at the same time, only to lose them again when he put his and Changmin's clothes back on.
Changmin won't know, but Yunho will, and that's all that counts.
