John is the human that Karkat is most comfortable with, besides Jade. He might have hated the stupid human at first, but he comes to realize later that he actually never hated John at all. Karkat really does consider them to be friends, even if John in Route 29 seems unsure or wary about him. There's a slight disconnect that Karkat can feel, but he's not quite sure what can be done about that. The human is still as dorky and derpy, and even as downright irritable, as he ever is. That has to count for something, even if Karkat is a little pissy that he has to start all over again.

According to Sollux, Rose is Karkat's former moirail in Route 29, which gives Karkat some conflicted feelings. While he can see that Rose is definitely palemate-worthy, there's still a matter of Karkat and hsi feelings towards Gamzee. Since she has not mentioned anything about it, Karkat takes it as a way to just move on from that potentially awkward situation. However, she has been nothing but helpful and encouraging, something that Karkat is not really used to getting, let alone accepting. Still, he trusts her simply for that reason. There's also a feeling that maybe he should have paid her more mind while in the Veil.

There's not much to say about Strider, other than the fact that Karkat legitimately does not like him. Strider is too rude. Too apathetic when on the inside, Dave Strider is just as insecure as everyone else is. In fact, Karkat even states that those sunglasses are just a way to hide hsi insecurities over those red irises. Perhaps one of the reasons that Karkat just does not like Dave is because they are far too alike, not that Karkat would ever admit to such a disgusting thing. In Route 29, they have not had much interaction. Karkat kind of wants it to stay that way.

Out of all four humans, Karkat has the most experience with Jade. She is the one that kind of made him take responsibility for his fuck ups instead of just blaming them on "Past Karkats." He happens to try to help her when dealing with her revived dreamself, though he's still a sarcastic douchebag with her from time to time. Really, he is the one person in who he has allowed to lead him in all of these shenanigans with the Green Sun. Karkat does respect her, mostly because she demands it. There are a little flushed feelings for Jade, probably because of how they have interacted. Like an old married couple, really. While he hasn't been able to talk with her too much in Route 29, the sentiments still remain to a degree.

Who is this douchebag? Nope, Karkat doesn't care. Moving right the fuck along. No, seriously. Karkat has no real opinion about Tavros. He doesn't even care to even really get to know him better or anything of the like.

There are so many feelings about and for Sollux. All of the feelings, all of them. Half of the time Karkat can't figure out if he likes Sollux or just plain hates him. They fight and argue all of the time, even degrading into insulting matches of the verbal variety. Only later does he feel embarrassed by these childish actions. Yet Sollux is the only one that Karkat seems overly emotional about. Sollux is also the only person that Karkat seems to NEED friendship from. He doesn't know why that is, but he feels the need to ask after every right. Add in the blindness and the teeth being knocked out and Karkat has copious amounts of sympathy for Sollux. Sympathy and perhaps some pale traces of pity, considering how guilty he is over it. Either way, being best friends with Sollux happens to be a rollar coaster of feelings and emotions.

Karkat has no real feelings for Nepeta other than friendship and respect. On the other hand, he knows how much she really pities him. That makes Karkat uneasy, as he cannot return said feelings. At the same time, he doesn't want to hurt her or make her sad about that. Therefore, in Route 29, he doesn't know what to say to her currently. He'll probably side step the issue because he believes that is the best way to deal with it. For them both.

Karkat just kind of adores Terezi, still. That doesn't mean she doesn't drive him completely shithive maggots. She does. Oh boy does she. Terezi happens to know pretty much all that there is to know about Karkat. It doesn't matter how the conversation rolls, she always gets the better of him. Terezi can hit all of Karkat's triggers and press every button with such skill that it pisses him off. Half of the time he doesn't know if this is supposed to be a blackrom or redrom thing, if it's even really a thing at all. Which it's not. Not now, anyway. Karkat still harbors some feelings for her, but he just doesn't know how to address the issue. Not after what has happened in the Veil prior to his arrival in Route 29. Speaking of in game, Terezi just recently arrived.

Vriska is another troll that Karkat just doesn't care for too much. It's sad that she isn't going to get to have the relationship that she wants with John, but that's as far as Karkat's sympathetic feelings extend. Everything that she's done, he has asked her not to do. In fact, she promised that there would be no irons in the fire, and yet she ignored and broke that promise. Kind of means that what happened to her is kind of everything she had coming. Besides, her death had been totally just. In Route 29, they still bump heads. That hasn't changed.

At first, Karkat really had hated Eridan, in a more platonic sense. That feeling had simmered a little upon the arrival in Johto. This is pretty average in the life of Karkat Vantas - he had been so riled up and filled with emotion before that the conversation held in that memo was kind of said in the heat of the moment. Now that things had died down, he has taken the time to analyze what had happened and sort of blames himself for it. When it had been brought up to Eridan, the guy actually looked guilty about it, especially considering Eridan hasn't even held that shitty wand yet in his perspective. With that clear display of guilt, and traveling about two months together, feelings just sort of shifted. The deal had been sealed, though, when Eridan really had committed himself to just proving to Karkat that Eridan didn't just want anyone to fill that flushed quadrant. Eridan really and truly wanted Karkat. It also helps that Eridan kind of hit all of Karkat's romance buttons on that date. Hell, Eridan's also agreed to try to take it easy on the asshole attitude. While it's still awkward, Karkat's thinking that maybe this won't be so migraine inducing after all.

Once again, Karkat has no real opinions on Feferi. She just kind of exists on his radar and has default trust as one of his shithive friends. Feferi is kind of scary, since Karkat has witnessed what her rage face looks like. On the other hand, she is Sollux's matesprit and he had not been okay with her dying, just like everyone else that he had worried over. In Route 29, they spoke briefly about Eridan. He feels better knowing that she won't cull him for something he hasn't done yet. It's something he can respect her for, even if he's still unsure about it.
