I'm sick of these arguments that make it sound like equality under the law for gays is going to take rights away from everyone else. Like there's some finite number of "marriages" you're worried about depleting. As if it is going to make heterosexual marriage "diminished" somehow. This "have your cake and eat it too" business is, forgive me, bullshit.
Yes, heterosexuality and homosexuality are going to be different. So are a load of other details lost in the mist there. What matters is when you start justifying the separation of people as a matter of law due to those differences. Whatever happened to "all men are created equal?"
If you noticed, I didn't say allowing homosexual marriage is taking rights away from anyone. My point was that if someone wants to be treated equally, well people are being treated equally right now. You can't ask to be treated equally and then ask for special designations.
