Apparently I'm not as gay as I think I am. One of my friends told me that another female friend had claimed to have had some sort of relationship with me in order to charge for the curtains that were in the room that I had previously occupied at the apartment. I was fairly popular with the girls myself in elementary school, bless their poor little hearts. ;)

Most of my extended family is not privy to my orientation either at this point, primarily my grandparents, though recently on Facebook I think some relatives may have finally caught on (and thankfully seemed fine with it).

I don't even know why. I don't think I was that special. Except maybe that I was, you know, willing to play with them and not completely buy into the gender-based hegemony playground logic.

That's good that you haven't had much trouble with the extended family so far. :D I'm going to dread the day I have to talk to my uncle and aunt about it. My dad and uncle had a talk about how good it was that Prop 8 was on the ballot right in front of me. WTF DUDES? I mean, my uncle didn't know I was in the room (it was over the phone), but my dad did, and I had recently come out to him.

Yeah, we'll see how the more homophobic ones take it, but hey! They may never know. Because I'm sure as heck not telling them myself. XD
