1. Where and when did you start RPing?
On AOL when I was around 13 or 14.
2. Do you RP anywhere other than LJ?
Sort of. If tabletop roleplay counts.
3. Do you play in any public games?
Yeah, but I don't play that much.
4. Do you prefer first-person comment spam or prose logging?
I definitely like both in their own ways, but I prefer logging when I have the time for it. Comment spam-types tend to devolve into more "I'm bored; let's bullshit" than logs do. I mean, there are still crack logs that I've done in the past, but I've seen way too many times that insubstantial shit has gone on in comment spams rather than something that advances character or plot.
5. What was the first character you ever played?
Oh god. A moogle. A randomass moogle. I don't even know what he was, but he was supposed to be a moogle. In an X-Men room.
6. Who's your favorite character to play now and why?
That's hard to say since I'm not really playing either of my favorites now. My two favorite characters are Zell Dincht and Edgar Figaro. Zell I love because I have a lot of room to work with him, and he's a character that I love queering, and well, Edgar's one of my staples. I have to admit that while I played him, Quintan of Destiny Odyssey was pretty damn fun.
7. What's the longest you've ever consistently played one character?
The games that I tend to play in don't last all that long, so I guess if you count him over multiple games, it's Edgar, and that'd be for about three years maybe? I dunno. There's also Terry Prought, who I played... I don't even remember how long.
8. What's your biggest RP pet peeve?
At the moment, it's probably inappropriate crack. I love crack at times, but I'm not expecting it, it throws me completely out of a game. I ran into this with the game I just joined.
I've had issues with OOC behavior in canon characters, but I've since learned to sort of relax about it.
9. Do you read RP secrets and the RP anon meme?
I've given up on the secrets communities and the anon memes. The schadenfraude is not worth the heaps of !fail involved.
10. If you've played in public before, do you prefer community based or journal based games?
Definitely community-based. Journal-based gets too messy, especially in big games. I like to have one place to look.
11. Would you rather play with someone who's very very IC but a mediocre writer or someone who isn't always IC (but not terrible) and a great writer?
I'd take someone who is a great writer. Being exact on canon behavior isn't a necessity for me anymore, and as long as its minor issues with the character's personality, it's cool with me. I'd actually prefer someone who was a little more flexible ICly than someone that was anal about canon.
12. Do you have a "RP partner"?
Not so much. There are two people I tend to gravitate to when logging if we're in a game together: Gero and Masa.
13. Do you ever stalk any casts, games, or players? Who?
Nope.
14. In your opinion, which part of an app is the most difficult/annoying?
Hm. I have the most trouble with personalities. I can grasp what a character is like, but putting it into words can be difficult sometimes. I tend to be skimpy with personalities in order to give myself room for development, but in games that require paragraphs, I spend forever just trying to explain myself.
15. Are you one of those people who has to customize their character's journal layout and userinfo?
Somewhat. I'll make a userinfo picture every now and then, but I almost never touch the layout.
16. What was your first game?
Xavier's Mansion on AOL. But really, my first true game was Mog's Realm Tavern.
17. Are there any canons you avoid tagging characters from?
I try not to avoid anyone, but then again, I tend to become insular.
18. Most memorable scene in any thread?
There have been so many of these. The Yunaledgar scene at the _FF masquerade. The fall of Figaro in _FF that got retconned. The pool party in CF. Zellgamesh going skinny-dipping. Slash's crush on "Emily" in WFI.
19. Do you RP sex?
I have done it in the past, but not so much anymore. In fact, besides Quintan, I'm having trouble remembering one character in my recent years who has had sex implicitly or explicitly.
20. Do you play more males or females?
I play more males, but I do enjoy playing females from time to time. This is funny because I find that I identify more with females in canons, but I trust myself to play males better.
21. What won't you RP?
I have to go with Heather here. Necrophilia, pedophilia, and bestiality are right out the door. As well, I can't do cannibalism. I have RPed rape in the past, but it's not something that I'm comfortable with anymore. I'm also uncomfortable with playing a character with overtly oppressive attitudes.
22. Dressing rooms: yes or no?
No. They're not my cuppa.
23. Ever RPed a pairing?
Sure. Edgar/Yunlesca (Yunaledgar) was a favorite of mine that really happened out of nowhere. Zell/Gilgamesh (Zellgamesh) is another that made me smile every time.
24. Favorite place to play: musebox, open posts, public games, private games?
Private and public games. I don't do museboxes, and open posts are simply fun for a limited amount of time.
25. Talking RP with someone else who plays your character: fun or awkward?
I've never actually done this, but I imagine it would be a case-by-case basis.
