It's sad when a community of multiracial parents, can't even begin to understand something like race. Thank God it's only a small amount of people compared to the amount of people who are multiracial or are parents of one ( Read more... )

How is it sad? I still say it's not like there's some written rule that says who is what or what is a race and what isn't. I mean if you want to be super technical there's only one race, right? The human race? I mean there are tons of countries in Africa, but you still consider yourself black right? I hope it doesn't offend you for me to bring it up, though I don't know why it would or should. People like myself are always asking what the disctinction is but I still haven't heard an explanation that makes sense to me ( ... )

Good Lord. People have been so brainwashed it's a shame.

Why are Haitians, Jamaicans, Bajans, Trinidadians, Bahamians, and Arubans not a race? If you can answer that, then you might understand why Hispanic people are not a race. If not, then I can still explain.

Brainwashed? I'm not brainwashed. I explained myself and asked you to elaborate. You're making it into a huge deal.. like calling it a race when it's not is some big moral delemma.

You consider Jamaicans black, right? Most people, when they refer to hispanicism or whatever are talking about more than just people from spain. So the difference is.. what? That there are different shades and nations and whatnot? There's that among blacks and whites and asians too. Japanese and Chinese often don't want to be associated with eachother either.

So I don't follow your logic. It seems to me that it's a race of people when it's accepted as one. Maybe you don't accept it, but some people do. I can see why you'd consider latinos and hispanics white since they have lighter skin, but some people can still see the distinction.

Mostly though I just don't see why it's such a big deal. Am I committing a sin by thinking of it as as much of a race as the others?

Um no, I don't consider Jamaicans black. Jamaicans can be Black, White, Asian, or Indian.

Cubans can be Black, White Asian, or Indian.

There are White Jamaicans, Chinese Jamaicans, Black Cubans, Indo-Cubans.

Get it now? Or do you want a more in-depth explanation? It's not about if you feel they are a race or not, they're NOT a race. It is a big deal, it's misleading to group a very large amount of people (South America, Central America, and the Caribbean) into something which they are all not.

Honestly, I can't believe he spouted so much shit. It's like he doesn't know basic Christopher Colombus history. He says Hispanics are darker. WTF?!?!?!! You're talking about White/Black mixes or mestizos!!!

I can't believe after explanation after explanation he didn't get it. Maybe that's why he didn't respond to my last post. He's my friend and all, but I want EDUCATED friends.

You make me laugh because you can't explain why. Especially on this post. Uneducated delinquent, lol, I hope you're not over 18 maybe that would explain it. It just proves how I'm so much more smarter than some people.
