watching the olympics in mexico

They show the weird sports. I didn't even know trampoline jumping was in the olympics! Or indoor bicycle racing. The strangest by far was sitting at a little taco stand the other night while 4 Mexican guys were glued to the screen watching the finals of men's power walking...

That's because Mexico is good in power walking. We had a gold medal in power walking many years ago, and the guy became a celebrity. Did you know that the Aztecs had a courier runners system. They would go between what today is Mexico City and Veracruz (around 400 miles) in four days.
Take care,
Oscar

I watched some of the Badminton online at nbcolympics.com. It was pretty awesome. I've also been wanting to watch some handball as well, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Yay not-popular-in-the-usa sports!

The one that amazed and mesmerized me was a woman with a hula-hoop. Well, it looked like a hula-hoop although she didn't actually do much with it around her waist. What she did do with it was so beautiful and and and stunningly graceful. I guess she had competitors, but I only saw the lady in white on the last Sunday. Haven't been able to find her on theinternet. RW
