I feel so bad for Zeke and putting up with those awful people. I can't blame him for swimming away to Casey.

I was cringing for Zeke all the way through this. You described the dysfunctional family so damn well. I love how Zeke just blew them off and dove over the side. He'll be soggy and aching when he hits Casey's room, but I know it'll be well worth the effort when Casey warms him up again.
