That was fun. My favorite was the in between scenes dippy Elvish singing--that had me rolling. :-D And I loved the watching Gandalf fall one. I mean, why not try to chop at the balrog's whip at least? And did PJ really think he was making Denethor a tragic figure?--oh my, that's delusional all right! Yup, Denethor got no dignity all right. And Gandalf's scary laughter--lol ( ... )

I assure you, he's really not. If you watch his videos as religiously as I do, you can see that he doesn't hold any sort of negativity towards gay people. HIS thing was more that the film went really heavy-handed with the romantic feel (however in-his-opinion that may be) when it should've been more "friendy".

I'm not just saying this because I'm a fan. I simply know his work, and his outlook. I don't see what you saw at all, really; teasing, yes, definitely. And I see nothing wrong with that, really. People tease the hell outta the whole Frodo-Sam-♥ thing at a constant, and I saw this no differently. He doesn't say "the movies make them look like FAGS, ewiiiie!", but "It doesn't FEEL like it did in the books; it's heavy-handed with a more romantic feel than friendship, which I feel is inaccurate." That may be an opinion rather than what everyone else sees or wants, but I can't find ( ... )

Thanks for this fun link. I have to agree with him on just about everything except perhaps the Gimli issue, which I think gave the film a little extra dimension by changing up the tone from time to time. But all the rest, yeah, he makes very valid points from a film critique POV.
