What does "relationship customer" mean?

May 30, 2007 17:25

I've sent an e-mail to bank of Ameirca the other day, to find out, if they would exchange my money when we are in Phoenix. Today, they wrote back saying that relationship customers can change foreign currencies in all full service banks without a fee. So does it mean I have to be a customer of the bank?

Sorry I haven't had a chance to call the bank (I haven't even had a chance to call my doctor and have been sickly since Saturday!). That is a strange phrasing that they used. It sounds like you do have to be a customer of the bank. I don't have an account there. I'll check with my credit union either tomorrow or Friday, but I think they charge a fee, because a few years ago when I sent you some money it was going to be expensive. Maybe exchange to US currency is cheaper though. Ask Nicky what bank she has, and she can ask there too.
