We've been friends for a while now, however I have realized over time that you've really grown on me and I think I like you more than a friend.
However I don't know how to tell you that, or if I actually should due to the risk that it may compromise our friendship that I greatly value. (That and the fact that many people have given me the advice that it is normally very hard to go to the next level with anyone that you have become great friends with over time). So maybe you can understand why I am doing this anonymously.
I don't know if you will see this since this post is so old, nor do I know what you will think once you see it.
If you figure out who I am, yay, have a cookie, lol. Maybe we could see where it goes. If you don't, that is fine too.
I just wanted you to know that no matter what though, Emily, you will always have someone out there who deeply cares for you, someone who will always be looking out for you, someone to laugh and have fun with, and a shoulder to cry on.
Ok, so I know it has only been a day, but I am wondering if you think you have figured out who I am. If you have, we should probably talk about it. I have the biggest fear now that it may mess up our friendship for good and that this whole thing must seem very awkward, and I am very sorry for that, but my feelings for you are still the same, and I'm praying that this does not mess up our friendship no matter what turns out as a result of this whole thing.
Ok. Here is my semi-logical breakdown of who I think it is.
I only have a few people I closely hang out with. And you are included in this group I think.
Most of them have bad grammar. So they automatically get removed because your spelling and grammar is very good.
Some of them have all the feelings of a rock. Thus I am removing them from my mental list as well.
So I am left with one person who sticks out in my mind the most. David?
So hopefully I am not completly out of the ballpark here.
Well, if it is you, you are right, we should defintaly talk about this. Though I am afraid to, because I know things like this can ruin a friendship or at least make it really awkward, and I'm not very good at having these types of conversations. But we should still talk I think.
If I know you, you'll check this obsessivly. So I get home from my last class about 1:30. Give me a call, and we can either talk then, or we can go do something, or I can come over there, or you can come over here or whatnot.

my dad is coming up at 1:30 so I have to meet him then, but after that, I'll figure something out.
