The ship rocked almost imperceptibly in the calm waters, as though enjoying her new finery. I'm sure she did! It was nice to see Cat make an appearance, too, older but not subdued.

She knew she looked dashing and dangerous tonight-a pirate queen in her rightful domain. Loved this. I really like Ana's determination here, her purposeful planning in the wake of what has happened on shore and how: She wanted to burn off the shadows, to let in so much light the darkness must flee, just as she had done to this room.

And so bloody annoying. Let us not forget that. That made me smile :-)

Thank you for stopping by my little corner of LJ to comment on this. I'm glad you liked the Pearl enjoying a little luxury and my persistant kitty as ornery as always.

Anamaria is both my point of view character in this story and the dominent character, too. I wanted her to be strong and forceful and deliberate and sexually stunning, and all the things I admire in a female character.

I'm always glad when Jack's behaviour is good for a smile :D

Your lovely feedback makes me smile.

Oh, this is *lovely.*

This is a sensory feast: the colors of the cabin in the light Ana's introduced (and I love the Pearl revelling in her finery -- marvelous touch!), Ana the pirate queen, Jack dripping wet in his breeches; the scents filling the air (including pomegranate -- both one of my personal favorites, and so appropriate for this scene); the sensations across the skin -- Jack in the ocean, silky and salty and coming clean, the plush invitation of the pillows and rugs...mmmm.

Dear old Cat. Perfect description of an aged martriarch of a feline. I love how unimpressed by Ana's efforts she is.

Your backstory to this is wonderful. If there were ever anything that could snap Jack out of dwelling on those sorts of dark thoughts, this would be it. All kidding aside though, it's fitting that death gets checked with this kind of celebration of life.

Possibly my favorite section of this: Those newly-made specters perched the heaviest on your shoulders, Anamaria knew. Still so used to life they couldn’t stop their frantic gibbering ( ... )

Virgo! *tackle hugs* How wonderful to hear from you! My muses always do a little Morris dance when they see you've commented. By the way, meet the new muse: The Mushy Plushy Romance Muse. She's joined the Zombie Parody Muse, the Maniacal Comedy Muse, the Sadistical Whirlybird Muse, and the Muse of Art in my Rogue's Gallery. I wonder if this counts as a mental illness ( ... )

You'd best be thinkin' about where exactly you're going to be going with this or be prepared to be tormented into writing more....yeah, sorta threat-y, but really, tell me you're willin' to waste the candles and the incense and the clean skin and the.....motivation....
come on (imagine Jack's wheedlin' face, his irresistale beautiful soft Hershey kisses eyes...

And now, the good stuff: “Let me guess, love,” Jack smirked, swaying provocatively into the room. “I’m not getting my face slapped tonight.” This is one of the funniest things I think Jack has ever mouthed. Gosh and golly, it's so very fine when a man can accept a woman being sexy with him and still manages a laugh. The best!

not met Jack’s eyes, after-never did like to glimpse the place he had to go in order to do that kind of work. This is one of the scariest lines about how Jack transforms. I have often said he weren't no Sunday pirate, he's a full-bleed man pirate with a heart can harden when needs be. It does cost him as you point out, but you move him real ( ... )

Oooh! Fan threats! I have arrived! I do hope the story consents to continue. It would be a waste of a perfectly lovely opportune moment. As Anamaria has said before--there ought to be an eleventh commandment against a man having eyes like that :D ( ... )

I posted a comment about Crossing the Bar last night, and now this one, you have made me go looking for treasure made of words, not silver and gold, I really enjoy how complex you have made Jack & Ana's relationship. From mutual respect to mutual protection, to perhaps love. Of all the females we have seen him with, she perhaps is most honorable and most deserving. Would a plea of more be out of line?

Thank you so much for commenting on this. I'm delighted you're enjoying my foray into Jack/Anamaria. I've learned to love Anamaria's character, and she's my favourite to write in relationship with Jack, although I resisted getting them together for such a long time. I do hope that more will arrive after I've finished Crossing. I will deliver my thanks for your other comment on the chapter in question :D
