[Action] Morning of the 23rd

[Karai spends a good long time staring at the treetops above her before she realises she's back in the forest. Then she spends a good deal more time not moving except to shift a tree root out from under her spine. Uncomfortable. Hurts. Therefore, alive ( Read more... )

[As Karai makes her way out of the forest, she will pass close by Michelangelo, who is out training. Magic, actually. He can point and shoot a respectable spark by now, but nothing combat ready yet.

He senses her coming, and blends in to the shadows, heart beating wildly.]

[Ninja senses are such wonderful things, aren't they? Karai doesn't seem to be paying much attention to hers. In fact, she passes right by him, not even glancing once in his direction.

She's in a New Feather dress and appears unarmed-- and moves like she should probably go to bed and sleep for a day or two. Actually, that's kind of what she's intent on doing.]

[O-kay? That's more than a little weird. Then again, Mike's never come back from the dead before. He'll trail her for a minute, and if she still doesn't react to his presence he'll deliberately slip up and make some noise.]

[She already knows Vash is trailing behind her somewhere back there. The extra presence doesn't really ping her until nearly a minute later-- and she stops dead just as Mike is about to make noise.]

Come out.

Much Later That Day ch_rell47 July 23 2011, 18:54:30 UTC
[She has been gone for the sufficient amount of time, and Ch’rell could feel his patience beginning to wane. Being dead was no excuse for being tardy, especially if being dead wasn’t so permanent here as it is in reality. He has almost no thoughts about Karai’s current mental and emotional condition, and even if he did, he could only bring himself to care so much. His expectations for Karai were that she is to be the warrior and daughter he had raised her to be.

Being human is frowned upon.

He stands infront of the door of Karai’s apartment and considers knocking for the briefest moments, then simply decides to pick the lock. If she is inside, then good for her, if not, then he’ll leave. He gets the door open in less time then most people would take trying to find their key.]

Karai.

[He enters and closes the door. He sees no reason to go further into the house. If Karai is there, than she will come to him.]

[Her headache is still here, though it seems to have abated a little after the tea Mia made her. Karai doesn't actually hear him pick the lock for this reason; she's at the table, fingers massaging her temples. Reading.

Going back over the week's journal entries, and seeing what her father has done.

...
...
...the turtles will know. Anyone with a naturally suspicious temperament will suspect. He has taken her death and turned it into a show. Stripped it of any last dignity or honour that remained. Did she really warrant that much...?

She doesn't have time to soak the impact of that before she hears her name at the door, and Karai closes her eyes. He hasn't abandoned her.

But this...]

[...will wait for another time. She stands, voice low but pitched to carry.]

I am here.

[Well, that is good to hear. She has not come to him, and that was strange. However he does venture further into the apartment, stopping at a door that stood slightly ajar. He pushes it open and finds his daughter standing there and waiting for him.]

I'm glad to see that you are back.

[He says, watching her carefully. She doesn't look particularly well, but he figures that she'll get over that eventually.]

Would you care for some tea, Karai?

[Ami is out for errands of her own when she happens to see Karai. Immediately, she stops.]

Karai-san! Are you alright? [She's in a New Feather dress... was she sent home and returned after all?]

What happened? You were gone..

[So Ami doesn't know. That's one thing at least. Karai stops where she is and gives Ami an even look.]

I am fine. [Not answering that other question.]

[She doesn't know the truth, no.]

Your father was looking for you. I was, too. A lot of us were helping.

I thank you for your concern. [Her words are stiff. So he knows Ami is a 'friend'. And Karai recognises a problem, here. She wonders if she can deal with it without being blatant.

Well, quite rudely, she will continue walking now. Brushing straight past Ami.]

[Sitting there all day, are you?

Then you have a chance at seeing something pale and elegant move through the forest's shadows as evening begins to fall, distant enough to be just out of clear sight.]

[She almost doesn't. Karai's thoughts are so focused inwards that the flicker of white barely registers at first. Then she blinks, and gazes out into the gloom.

There were supposedly god wolves in this forest, weren't there...?]

[Oh yes. Yes there are.

A pair of green eyes stare out for a long moment, visible against the mottled darkness, then vanish again.]

[Such vivid green eyes are uncommon for a wolf. Though Karai can't exactly talk...

...from what she remembers, one wolf is highly territorial of the forest and hates humans, and the other is the sun goddess. She doesn't realise there's a third option yet, but in either case she'll pay her respects.

Karai sketches a small bow in Aisling's direction.]
