[Karai's entry into Luceti during the day is very short and to the point. She's read the guide. She doesn't trust this place at all-- so it's short visits to both the Welcome Centre and the smithy on the hunt for her weapons and a list of empty apartments. Maybe some groceries. Maybe she'll pause to terrorise a child on her way through. Certainly, ( Read more... )

[Action] Because neighbors should meet, right? coolstempers March 11 2011, 08:24:15 UTC
[And in the kitchen on the first floor there happens to be a nice smell coming from it. Seems one of your neighbors is making something to eat.

And it actually smells like it might not be too bad. It's probably quite tempting in fact.

And at least it's not your pervy neighbor who is cooking it.]

[Tempting for a couple of reasons; she hasn't eaten since she arrived, despite carting a cookie all over town. And though she certainly knows how to cook, Karai hasn't cooked for herself in years. Ninja Clan leaders rarely have to prepare their own meals, after all.

That being said, she isn't about to make any requests of him. She has her own groceries, and one does not partake in meals made by complete strangers in any case. But it's enough that she decides to stop in at the kitchen before heading for her new home, slipping in quietly. She may as well start here in getting to know the building, after all.

And that does smell appetising.

tl;dr; have a ninja lady all up in your kitchen, Piers. Watching you warily from the doorway.]

[And he doesn't quite notice the creepy stalker ninja lady watching at this time. We'll assume it's because Karai is good at what she does.

There's a dish nearby with a very large amount of what looks to be fettuccine alfredo with some sort of fish and a pile of colorful vegetables on the side. Sadly, he made too much again because it's so hard to get used to cooking for just one (and he doesn't quite trust the refrigerators yet).

There are sounds of dishes being cleaned in the sink. At least Karai's neighbor is polite and does clean up after himself, right?

And then he finally notices her.] Oh, were you waiting on me to finish? I apologize for taking so long!

[Ah. No, she shakes her head.] There is nothing to apologise for. I am new; I was merely watching.

Do you live on this floor?

[How interesting would you say 8' 8'' walking skeletons with afros walking down the street with their groceries humming this song are?

Probably not very interesting at all, of course. He isn't dancing, after all.]

[

...now, if you were on this side of the street, she'd probably have freaked out and tried to take your head. Not gonna lie.

But as you're just CASUALLY WALKING DOWN THE STREET (and singing) with groceries (and singing-- what is that?) Karai is going to just. Do her best to refrain from gaping.

Processing]

[Humming; humming - this is such a catchy tune. Oh hey, who's that across the street?]

Yohohoho! Good evening, young miss!

[Not to worry, Vash. Karai just sidesteps and lets you stumble your merry way to wherever you like. |Db Fall flat on your face for all she cares! Drunken idiots are not her concern.]

[Your ninja skills pale in comparison to Jack's Babedar senses and it doesn't take long for him to know one of those apartments are now in use. When she steps out of the apartment, Jack will be standing outside, smoking a cigarette.]

You must be the new renter here.

[Karai glances up with some surprise, and then finishes closing her door with a neutral look.] And you must be the welcome party.

If you want to call me that. The name's Jack Horner.

[Smithy, you say? Well this girl practically lives is there, and when someone walks in she leaves her work to greet them.]

How may I help you?

Good afternoon. [Have a faintly assessing look, Winry, before she glances around the smithy. Unlike most people she talks to today, she'll be courteous and not scowl at all. Yet] I am told that I will be able to find my personal weapons in this place.

[A-also, she appears to be holding a cookie. Very awkwardly.]

[She's had worse. Also is that one of Elicia's cookies...?] Of course. What is it that you're looking for?

A sword? [Those are very popular.] Throwing weapons, maybe?

[It might be. |D]

Two katana, wrapped red at the hilts. [She hesitates for a moment-- this girl isn't Japanese.] And a length of chain, weighted at the ends.
