Well I don't know the original text, but making a translation that still sounds poetic, that's hard work!
(and don't worry. I often read my cellular biology at a totally different chapter when i'm supposed to study... )

It's not that hard, the songs are pretty poetically written, so I just stay as close to the original as I can. ^^

The painter gave his friend a name: "Black fortune"--HOLY NIGHT.

For a second, I read that as "--HOLY SHIT". But I really really like the second one!
