Oh yay~~~ I wanna make a rant yeay~~~
My local flist~ honestly I don't have power to tell you you cannot cosplay any certain character if you want. Your money... not mine.
But I do wish that you keep being in character while you're cosplaying anything... ESPECIALLY If those characters are the ones I like/know/familiar of. I know I also occasionally slips out of character.... but I also tend to remind myself to remain in character.
And just because a new series just pop up/going to pop up... that doesn't necessarily mean you HAVE to immediately cosplay the character. What you? Attention whore? Can't you at least wait a moment until the character had at least been given/shown some kind of character before you decide to play them?
I won't scream blasphemy at you whenever you're not 'play'ing the character properly. But I do have to admit... my heart would definitely break whenever I saw such things.
I mean, if your character fit Luka/GokaiYellow better than Ahim/GokaiPink, then do Luka instead rather than Ahim. Don't be GokaiPink but your mannerism is all GokaiYellow. If I'm a kid and REALLY... REALLY liked GokaiPink, I'd be VERY disappointed. Same thing as if you cosplayed Kisaragi Gentaro/Fourze, yet you're not being friendly to everyone and frowned at every single person you don't know... then WHY on earth are you cosplaying him?
I'm so far still glad no one did Otoya at least in front of me, because seriously if they did the character wrong... yep, Hulk mode.
Another thing... if you don't have affinity with said character, or don't know the character too well... why are you cosplaying them... why do you even want to... AND THEN YOU COMPLAIN THAT MAKING THOSE COSPLAYS COST YOU A TON AND THAT IT GAVE YOU SO MUCH TROUBLE.... whut?
If you said you just dressing up... nah... won't hold a beef at you but if you say you're cosplaying, yep... I'll show my distaste very openly.
I don't say that I roleplayed all my characters perfectly all the time, but I do try as much as I could. Because I know, I'd feel sad if I see other people playing my fav characters and not doing it well. I don't really (much) care about how the cosplayer looks and mostly more concerned if they had their costumes/ props /personality at least 85% accurate. Because that's all that matters.
And you guys complain about not-pretty people cosplaying your Riders and Sentai despite them doing their prop/costume well and being very in-character! I rather be seeing that compared to pretty cosplayers cosplaying my fav chara but acting OOC. Just sayin~
