Because I was THAT amused. I think aside from mentions on how the monsters work, this should be mostly spoiler-free.
Kamen Rider Wizard Episode 1
I held back watching this due to Doctor Who Series 7, Single Father.... and some other stuffs. But hey~
I LIKE Wizard already. Not just because of the familars (I mean... UNICORN! KRAKEN! GARUDA! etc) but the belt! The belt is so cute I wanna squish it. ^w^ . The belt sings just like OOO Driver! Aside from the simplistic mask design which kinda like Faiz and the tail coat jacket and the familiars that are kinda like the gattai of foodroids-origami-candroids, Wizard also had a similar ability like Den-O. Kinda.
I mean... in terms as to how the Phantoms attack a Gate, it does feel similar as how Imagin work on their host. But instead of going to an actual past timelines, Wizard went to the Gate's sorta realm inside their memories. So as long as he manage to defeat the inner Phantom and prevent the destruction of the Gate's 'underworld', the Gate won't die. And another difference being, Phontom is created from a person who had the magical potential to become Gates. Aside from that, I get all the Den-O feels.
That aside, not sure if the ring was needed to remain worn by the saved Gates in order to keep them safe.
But really, back at the belt/driver SFX it was so cute! Aside from half the basic commands are in English, half of it were in mix broken japanese english + gibberish. I mean like... 'Shabadadoobie Touch to Henshin' (Shabadadoobie Touch to transform), 'Cho ii ne, Kick Strike.... saiko!!!' (Isn't it great? Kick Strike ... Awesome!) and the spells being ', PLEASE' just clinches it. Added with the '火火火火火火' (Hi hi hi hi hi~), '土 土 土 土 土' (To to to to ton~), '風風風風風' (Fuu fuu fuu fuu fuu fuu~) etc just made the belt sounds like laughing melodiously it's endearing~
The Phantom concept also kinda like how Dopant work. I mean... like only certain people can use certain Gaia memories (aside from Masquerade), new Phantom can only be created if the inner Phantom inside Gates killed them from inside. It depend on the Gates... that means they don't attack random people to turn them to Gates. And of course the Wizard rings that fit the themes that all post Decade riders shared. Different rings for different forms/ability. So after collecting cards, gaia memories, medals, switches... we have Rings!
I already loved Wizard, and will continue to support Kida-san on this series. And hopefully what happened to Hibiki don't repeat.
