The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) is on a rampage, launching legal attacks against average Americans from coast to coast. Hey, it's clearly ILLEGAL to download music, so really no one has the right to complain when they're punished for it. If people are such huge fans of the artists, then why are people stealing the music?
I'm not saying that there shouldn't be a better way to solve the problem (because there really should be), but I hate hearing people complain that they get in trouble for something that they knew was illegal to begin with.

It's more of the fact that the artists who had their music "stolen" don't get ANY of the money made from the settlements. So the RIAA still isn't helping the artists, except for using the random suing as a scare tactic.

Yeah, I agree that they should find some other way to fix the problem. I've just been hearing a lot of people complaining about how they're making a big deal about pirating music and it's just so annoying. And then they come out with things like Ipod that incourages illegal downloading. I dunno, it just kinda looks like someone is wanting to pull an ass-load of money in from the file-sharing blackmarket.
