This community was created for military families to request graphics of their soldiers, marines, coasties, flyboys, seamen, or any other branch you desire. :) this community is mostly a freebie community, for now - we'll most likely introduce open requesting as we re-vamp this community to it's former glory.
the frequently asked questions
001: What is this community? it's a graphics community to request and recieve military graphics of any kind, but only military graphics.
002: Why can't I post? Posting is moderated right now while we smooth out the details of our community, and is limited to only mods and makers here.
003: What's up with that? As I bring more makers to this community, I might allow open requesting, but as it stands, I can't get as much done as I wish I could!
004: I was declined/I was removed from the community. How come? If you were declined, there could be a few reasons why:
» 01. You don't have credit for your icons. Even if you made them yourself, or if you've found them from some unknown source, we require that you have that in your keywords. Otherwise, we can't be sure you'll credit us, either, and we like credit.
» 02. You have less than 10 friends or your journal has zero entries. These things are typical of troll journals, and while we're not accusing you, we are trying to protect our community and it's members from picture-thieves and graphics-stealers, both of which we've had before. If your journal is new or has only a few friends because it's a seperate journal of yours, just let us know. There are always ways to work things out. :)
» 03. Your journal is a "communities" or "credits" journal. I'd prefer you only use your personal journals in this community, so that I can see whether or not the icons have been credited or are being used!
» 04. It doesn't look like you have a reason to be here. This isn't a dating service, or a place to get random icons. This is a place where girls (and guys) who love their military men and women can get graphics to show their pride!
005: Can I suggest anything? By all means! If we're forgetting anything, or if you see anything you'd like to have changed, if you have any ideas, anything at all, please do not hesitate to use this post as a forum for your suggestions.
006: What's this maker reference page? The maker reference page is a page I've created where members can leave some information about their military families, including pictures. When I want to create a new graphic to offer, I can reference that page. That way, a new person with each freebie gets a surprise! You can leave your info there by going to the page and using the request form in the form of a comment.
007: I requested to join like a week ago. Why am I still pending? I've got loads to do, so I usually accept or deny users on Friday evenings, which seems to be when I wind down. You don't have to comment here (unless your journal is new or you've switched or something) and let me know you've joined and you're waiting - I know about you, I promise!

the rules
Our rules are pretty straightforward here as far as graphics communities go. Still, we'd like for you to follow them.
001. Every single post in this community must be military-graphics related.
002. Request only when a freebie is offered, unless otherwise specified.
003. Free requesting is allowed at a maker's discretion. A moderator or maker will create a post that community members can comment on with their requests. A request form will be provided for you in each free requesting post. Only military-related requests are allowed during free requests!
004. Don't hotlink either from our community or from other sites to here. It sucks.
005. Save the drama for your mama.
006. Use the graphics we give you. We check!
007. We have a three-strikes-and-you're-out system working here. That means you'll have two warnings before you're booted for the community for things such as not crediting, causing drama, or breaking any other rules.
008. Be careful of how much you reveal about either yourself or your significant other. This means no deployment locations, anything that can be considered classified, or anything of the sort. If you hesitate thinking about what you post, just don't do it. :)
009. Credit. We check!
010. Make sure you have the community friended. How will you be able to see the offers otherwise?
011. The graphics I make in this community are for use on Live Journal only. Please don't take them to your MySpace, Xanga, or Greatest Journal, or any other site. That's how graphics end up without credit.
