Dean gets hit with your classic insomnia curse. Not that he sleeps much normally, but this is baaaad and it takes a toll on his health. (Symptoms of sleep deprivation can be found here, btw.)
Anyway, at some point, he's no longer in control of his emotions, he doesn’t have the energy to explain what’s wrong to Sam (maybe because it’s EVERYTHING; I would love if this were set in s7, but any season is fine, btw) and he becomes an incoherent, can’t-stop-crying-to-the-point-of-making-himself-sick mess, or maybe a depressed, can’t-get-out-of-bed-or-make-the-effort-to-even-cry mess. (I'm okay with self-harm, etc., btw.) Sam, of course, is super-worried and takes care of him until he’s better.
When the curse is over, though, is Dean really “fixed,” or just better able to conceal his inner self/feelings?
