Seems like I picked the perfect day to check my LJ again. HI, GUYS! Remember me?

So, let's say Bobby's always been Dean's safe haven. Sure, he loves his dad more than anything, but John can be a drunk, unstable, mean son of a bitch, especially now that Sam's left them. Bobby has always been...not that. Now, let's say Dean shows up at the salvage yard unannounced, and it's the anniversary of Karen's death, and Bobby is a drunk mess, just like John when he gets lost in memories of Mary, and in that moment, it just fucks with everything Dean's ever known about his world. He wants to scream and cry and break expensive shit that makes a lot of noise. He doesn't though. He has to take care of Bobby and make sure he doesn't choke on his own puke.

They completely break my heart, and yet these two fucked up Manly Men are generally unafraid to tell the other in pretty bare terms "you matter and I love you" and and and Dean and Bobby <333

See, this is caretaker!Dean, but it's ABOUT Dean and it's much more about Dean than Bobby and yet he cares about Bobby so bloody much and Bobby covers him with a blanket while Dean's asleep and Bobby cooks breakfast and Mary, Mary, Mary and "I--I didn’t know!”... “It’s okay, man, you didn’t know.” and breakmyheartwhydon'tyou!

I love Dean and Bobby so much, and really do believe that of everyone Bobby is the person who has most valued Dean as a person and most recognized how badly he needed to be told that he was good enough and loved and...yeah. Bobby feelings. I'm really glad you enjoyed this!
