At its worst, this leads to all the faults of fundamentalism like the murder of abortion doctors, the subjugation of women, rejection of scientific thought, and prevtion of human progress through the supression of social evolution.
Each person must determine for himself which religion is most right, unfortunately, religions often encourage their followers to cross the line and bring their views to those who reject them, oftentimes intrusively.
The premise that there exists a vengeful God who demands his followers worship in a prescribed way, lest they be cast into the bowels of hell is utterly ridiculous. By the very definition of God as commonly used in most religions, this cannot be the case.
Either God exists irrespective of religion, and spirituality is sacrosanct, or there is no God.
