http://hoodsey.livejournal.com/641620.html Well, went and saw Steel this morning. He looks 10x worse... vet says he is "pleased with it" though so we have to keep our chins up. Problem is, Steel has to eat "mush pellets" and since it takes him so long to eat, the wound is almost constantly damp so the skin is just raw and sloughing off...
The incision with the staples and stitches is holding, there is just a big gaping... hole next to the incision. The tissue and muscles all look healthy though. It just looks so bad... and it SMELLS. All things the vet says are normal.
So here is today's photo. Day 8. I am going to post a link because it IS way more graphic than the last few sets of photos. =P
Picture is here. His swelling is almost completely gone down and he is in good spirits. Thank goodness...
Oh! And as of right now, the sutures on the palate (what they went in for in the first place) are holding beautifully!
