Normally I wouldn't be inclined to talk about my day, but I just realized that today was strange and possibly worthy to mention. I will lj-cut it, though, because it is long and you folks need to get to your work.
I went to bed around 4 AM because I was doing work--really, it's complicated.--and I had a rather strange dream. I was surrounded by bombs. One by one, after a certain amount of time, a bomb would start ticking, and I'd rush over and try to figure out how to disable it. I had the whole red wire, blue wire scene in front of me, but the weird thing is that nothing worked after I cut both of them, so I just started whacking it. And after a couple of whacks the beeping would stop and I would calm down. Then, another bomb started ticking, and I'd go and do the same thing. After the third or fourth one, one of the bombs was about to explode and I woke up.
This is weird because I thought it takes a few hours before the REM cycle (and dreams) begin. Oh, and slightly funny because the whole time I was actually turning off my alarm clock. I TOLD YOU GUYS I HAVE MAGICAL POWERS WHEN I DREAM. But anyway, I was ten minutes late to zero and Ms Gala seemed mad and gave me a detention.
Except that the detention wasn't because of the tardy. It was because a cell phone that went off. Except, the cell phone wasn't mine.
You see, before winter break, someone's phone went off and Ms Gala said that the administration was encouraging all teachers to be really strict about the policy. So she demanded to know whose phone it was, so I said it was mine. She looked shocked--I think this is because I keep losing the blasted thing and she was couldn't believe I actually had it with me for once--and asked, "Really?" I replied with a very sardonic "yes"--come to think of it, I think this was the day after the oh-so-splendid Penn results--and then other members of the class started piping in with, "It was mine. Oh, it was my phone. Yes, it was all of ours. At the same exact time."
Little did I realize until she told Mairin (
greystrata) about my class's PECADILLO that she was somewhat irritated by the incident.
So. When a phone went off today, and Ms Gala retold the story and looked especially irritated, I got up and gave her mine so she wouldn't be mad anymore. But it's okay because I deserved the detention for the tardy anyway.
Physics was strange.
Afterschool I had a cavity filled--quite the numbing experience (LITERALLY!) It wasn't really painful except when she accidentally knicked my chin with the drill. My mouth was only numb on one side, so that it drooped and I looked like the Phantom of the Opera (DUN DUN DUN DUN DUUUUNNNNNN). I had a mighty fine time making faces in the mirror until I realized I had to go to IVC and get my transcript--which ended up taking an hour or two. Lots of weird looks, too.
I don't feel like eating candy ever again.
