Is down to earth the same as earthy?

searched for earthy on dictionary.com, and it has some negative connotations of being crude? lol

I suppose it can also be a question of down to earth in some areas of life (relationships, friendships, spirituality) and ambitious in others (career, achievements, etc) =)

I think you are very down-to-earth!=) Then again, maybe all of us are idealistic/ down-to-earth in some proportion or the other, it's not a either-or thing. Just that maybe you show the down-to-earth side of you visibly more so than others?

maybe you are right that most people have a good balance of both. but I do know of a couple of friends who are more idealistic than anything else... oh well... hahaha.

perhaps I see being idealistic as a personal weakness and I don't express it so much I guess... but perhaps I shouldn't see it as a opposing force too. sometimes I think I become a bit too cold and hard on myself(and other people) when I am too practical...
