Full Name Nigel Anderson Fuller.
Age 35.
Birthday October 16th.
Place of Birth London, England.
Occupation Celebrity gossip columnist for The Daily Mail.
Fairytale Captain James Hook from Peter Pan.
Age of Realization It is unclear to him exactly when he realized that he was the Captain, but he got a real sense of it by age 5. He likes to say he’s known since birth.
Status Nigel loves who he is. He is insanely open about it and has many references to his Tale in his life. Non-Tales would be none the wiser because pirates are so popular in society. Which he thinks is smashing, simply smashing!
Ability Is being ridiculously good-looking an ability? If so, then he’d say yes.
Nigel’s mother must have known he was bad when he was born, because she put him up for adoption. He was raised by Nancy and Thomas Fuller, your typical loving, caring parents. Nigel naturally disliked them because they were so nice to him all the time. From the age of one, he was a trouble-maker, throwing toys at his mother’s face and pulling the cat’s tail. His parents were too happy to have a baby (having been unable to conceive one of their own, poor dears) so they bore it all and continued to shower young Nigel with love and devotion.
When he was five years old, he asked his mum if he was adopted. She was alarmed that her son would ask such a question, but she couldn’t lie to him. The truth stung him (naturally) and he wondered from then on who he hated more, his adoptive mum or his biological one. Around this same time, he watched Disney’s Peter Pan and came to the conclusion that he was Captain Hook. Whereas most little boys would play Peter Pan, little Nig took his mother’s coat hanger and fashioned himself a hook.
As he continued to grow, he took on more and more of Hook’s characteristics. A visit to a local zoo when he was eleven years old, for example, ended with him wetting himself at the crocodile exhibit. When asked why he was afraid, he could only mutter “tick-tock”. His mother worried about his obsession with Hook, but she assumed (as most mothers do) that it was a phase he would grow out of. In a way, she was correct. By the time Nigel reached University age, many of the childish tendencies had passed. However, this was not because he no longer believed he was Hook. In fact, it was because he now fully knew he was Hook.
His natural tendency to harshly judge people lent itself well to celebrity gossip rags, so he took on Journalism at Cambridge. He was not a very good student, for obvious reasons, and spent much of his time inside the Headmaster’s office. Apart from his journalism studies, Cambridge is also the place where Nigel realized that he was gay. It was an epiphany that came to him much in the same way that we realize we have legs. He had never really thought about it before, but it made complete sense to him once he was surrounded by all the handsome, studious young men. By this time in his life, his mother had already suffered through so much, so this new announcement did not really surprise her. His father was not pleased by it, but raising Nigel had shown him that it was futile to be anything but bemused by him and his outlandish behavior.
Once he graduated Cambridge, he took his newfound literary talents around to all the gossip papers that would publish him. Whenever his work was not accepted, he blamed the publisher's "bad taste" instead of himself. Luckily for him, his writing did improve over the years. Finally, in 2003, he was hired to be a full-time columnist for London’s best and most highly talked about gossip rag: The Daily Mail. He has been the oft-controversial reigning Prince of Perversion there for the past five years. His column endlessly criticizes the fashion, freak outs and foibles of anyone in the spotlight. He has had many unsuccessful relationships but has yet to find anyone he loves more than himself.
Much like his Tale, Nigel has almost a split personality. On one hand, he is often completely shameless and cruel. However, on the other hand, he can be compassionate toward people that he finds sympathetic. He is not 100% evil like many people assume Hook to be. Behind all the glamour and pompous jabs, there lies a man who is deeply disturbed.
His temper is renowned. Because he is in the public eye, any grudges that he holds against anyone immediately become public knowledge. If you piss him off, you can be sure that you’ll be subject to his wicked literary rants the next day. He is also insanely self-centered. If he says something, it has to be true. If he wants something, it must be his.
Nigel is a strikingly foppish man. He dresses in the frilliest outfits and even has a rather large collection of canes. He is quite larger-than-life and only a select few people have even ventured past his irreverent exterior to see the way he really is. But that is okay with him because he prefers keeping the melancholy aspects of his character to himself. No one needs to know that he weeps for his mother.
First Impression "Whoa, is that guy real?"
Appearance Tall and slender with crazy brown hair and big brown eyes. He is usually seen in frilly shirts and leather pants, with lots of necklaces, rings and belts on. ~DISCLAIMER~ I am not Nigel Fuller. Captain Hook belongs to J.M. Barrie and Russell Brand belongs to himself. However, Nigel belongs to me. A lot of time and thought has gone into this character, so please do not steal him and use him on another site or I will hunt you down and cry in your face. And no one wants that.
