I am sorry about that, kittens -- I keep meaning to post stuff here and never do. Bad Mellie, no new laptop cooling board.
I think part of my lack of enthusiasm for blogging is that I haven't really been DOING much lately that's blogworthy -- or at least I don't see it as blogworthy. My days pretty much consist of working, doing the triathlon training (yes, this broad broad is going to do an indoor triathlon in February, and my calves are things of glory and knotted muscle now from all the frigging spinning I've been doing at the gym), writing, editing, the podcast, working some more (three guesses where I am), and indulging in yet another fandom (if you haven't seen the new BBC series of SHERLOCK, catch it on PBS in late October -- you can thank me later).
My biggest recent news was that I attended FenCon a couple of weeks ago, then wandered down to Austin this past weekend to see Nevermore. Yes, again -- but this time I got an autograph and pictures with my friend Fazia, new friend Virginia, and the man himself.
Just a couple of SFLAaE/BS members hanging out, nothing to see here, move along...
Fazia and Virginia, on stakeout in the hallway of the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema.
A tired but extremely sweet and gracious Jeff. Ignore the insanely grinning redhead on his left.
Oh, and we've just started the runup to release time, so all of this quiet time is about to be balanced off by an absolutely hellacious two weeks -- whee!
So what's up in your life?
