I feel like such a WOMAN!
Yo, I'm writing about shoes, and it ain't even about shoe!porn. Weird, right?
Anyway: I hate shoe shopping. Hate, hate, hate it. I even wrote an essay about how much I hate it in college. Because my feet? Are HUGE. I wear 11.5 in men's shoes. Which means I'm a 12W/13 in women's. So pretty much my entire life, I've had to shop for shoes in the men's department. Setting aside the issues about the different departments for different genders and the problems inherent in that - it kind of sucks to have every major retailer say "hey, your body is abnormal."
THE PAYLESS SHOE SOURCE I FOUND THIS MORNING CARRIES SIZE THIRTEEN SHOES.
I'mma buy me some HEELS, y'all. And maybe FLATS. IDEK - I own ONE pair of women's shoes - a pair of brown heels I got when I was, like, fourteen. It's freakin' disorienting to look at my feet in strappy sandals. It looks like...well, it looks WRONG. But I do want to embrace my tallness. I'm 5'11 now, I would be even AWESOMER TALLER in heels, y/y? Okay, mostly, I just want to be more like Cat Deeley (the host on So You Think You Can Dance). She wears pretty dresses, five-inch heels, and looms over everyone - and has never, for one second, looked uncomfortable or out of place. And I want to feel that way, too.
