To anyone who would like a peek. I uploaded a few samples from the recent wedding on my blog. I intend to use the blog as an advertising/promotional tool as well.
I LOVE the one of V going down the stairs...I don't know what your contract with them is, but I think you could sell that one as part of your portfolio - it's stunning! Could you lighten the one of the 3 bridesmaids any? It could just be the computer screen not showing it brightly enough but it looks really dark to me (unless of course, that was your intent and if that's the case, I'll be quiet).
I think they're really good and capture some moments that photographers often miss - I love it when things aren't posed!
No don't be quiet. I appreciate you taking the time. You're right, the blog software always seems to darken the images a bit. Something I need to remember when I upload them
i agree with poster above about the first one lacking contrast between the bridesmaids and the background but playing about with photoshop could fix that (if they digital that is)
I love the natural look of the pics tho... i really would like to see more.
As for using the blogs as a promo tool, its not 100% professional I dont think. It looks a little cheap in terms of trying to sell your services tho you could set up your own blog based website where you'd get more control over the look of the page and you wouldnt get the horrible blogger banner at the top of the page. Just my opinion.
I lightened that one photo. It should have a bit more separation now from the background. The actual photo is better but I have to edit each time I use a different web site.
As for the blog as a tool, they are pretty popular here if used right. I still do have to do a complete overhaul of my main website. The blog would just be used as more of a newsletter type deal. Something that can be changed/updated often. I agree that I need to improve the banner to be more customized. Thanks for the comments, I appreciate your thoughts.. I have lots of work yet to do. Stick with me...I'll need the comments.
I love the b&w shots..but then again I always love your b&w shots! The shot of the rings and cake..I love too! I really like the bride going down the stairs as well. NICE JOB! Have you ever taken any pics of storms? I would love to see some.
Hey thanks for stopping in here. Well, I have not had a chance to photograph storms. It's something I always wanted to do though. In fact about a month or so ago we had some tornados in the area and I headed out the house and drove north a few miles but I missed it.
I appreciate the comments. I'll ad more to the blog as I get more done.
