"We owe the kids of America options. That is the bottom line." I couldn't agree more. "We expect that they get the "obvious" answers right in their Evolution test but want them to ask us their interpretation of The Merchant of Venice." Why is that so very true, and always how it is? Oh man...
i love this part:anniedarlingApril 8 2003, 00:21:20 UTC
"Evolution is not arithmatic. 1+1 does not always = 2. Scientists will get their numbers wrong and, more often then not, come up with 3 as their answer. The Bible is different. There may be different translations, different interpretations, but the MESSAGE is crystal clear."
Evolution is taught in classrooms because it has scientific fact to back it up. Dinosaur fossils are found, carbon dated, and placed together to form the history of the earth. The facts transcend belief of what was written, re-written, interpeted, and interpeted again, such as religion. Bhuddists, Hindus, Jews, and Christians find proof of evolution. I'm not sure that there will ever be something found that will change the mind of creationists. The belief system is built in such that can debunk any scientific fact. But to answer your question, no, evolution is not a religion.
the only time i hear of evolution as a fact, is by someone who isnt a scientist. The small amount scientists who are not bias will find lack of evidence in fossils because there is no proof of evolution from one species to another. The fossils are always in their completed form according to the dates given. I wonder if all the different dating methods give the same dates for all fossils. There are no fossils that show the evolving of strengthening skeletal structure within the species. There are only "explosions". There are holes in the Evolution Theory, from mircoevolution to macroevolution. Carbon-dating has its faults, and no one can offer a sensible explaination to how our universe came into existance, because every action is caused by an opposite and equil reaction. It is statistically impossible for even the simplist living cell to randomly put itself together with all its complicated components, not to mention the rest of life. The generally accepted belivef that everything started 15 billion years ago couldnt even give it
