Why is it that I don't believe in god, yet I like biblical imagery? like the idea of Angels, Demons, etc. And why do I like songs that use such in them, though these songs are not gospel. Par Exampla:

You read my mind! I often find myself thinking the same thing...I love biblical imagery, and anything dealing with angels and demons, yet I am 100% an atheist. I think I just like all the mystery, and the archaic and mystical trappings surrounding certain aspects of Christianity. Even though I actually abhorr 99% of what comes of that religion, and what's been done in its name. I also love songs, books, and art inspired by religious themes...especially when they play with the mythology and turn it around to make the devil into a sympathetic figure. Is it possible to simultaneously be a romantic and a cynic/skeptic?

sure, why not? The world isn't black and white. You should be able to be a romantic and cynic. Duality exists in everything. People like to think things are simpler though.

As far as religious imagery, I like Byzantine art as well. I still think it's odd though, about the angels and demons, etc. I think I like the idea of the Fallen Angel the best. It's poetic and oh so goth. V's song Almost Human relates to Lucifer's fall from heaven. Or it CAN correlate over it if it isn't directly overlaid

I was thinking about the song Almost Human, among other things as well. Have you read Memnoch the Devil by Anne Rice? If not, you should *definitely* check it out, even if you've never read any of the earlier vampire novels. I really think you'd love it.

The Man Upstairs by Voltaire works too. But it's not meant to be about god/the devil.
