i agree with you that dean can't cope and this is as close as he'll get. reading this again, i'm not sure it comes across, but the sun at the end is pretty much sam in heaven agreeing with his decision. and he'll always be looking out for dean. just as much as dean looked out for him.

yeah, it hurt to write it, too. i just went where the story took me and i cried as i was writing it. a lot. but i hope you enjoyed the pain anyway! ;)

I'm glad Dean chose to live in the end, i was afraid he'd buy the motorcycle and then use it to crash off a bridge or something.

i think dean would keep living because that's what sam would want. for dean to have a life outside of sam and hunting. i don't necessarily think dean would be happy about it, but he would do it for sam. maybe he'd even learn to be ok with it. thanks for reading!
