Yes. I agree. Unfortunately, ff.net doesn't offer 'txt spk' as a language option for those people.

One day, if they persevere with their writing, they will learn and then all will be well... for the short period it takes for another idiot to fill the vacuum created by their abscence.

except that this is the internet we're talking about, so there is never a vacuum in that area. It is always overflowing with poor writers who haven't learned yet. Those elite few of us who write very well and very properly thank-you-very-much are merely waiting for the others to join our ranks.

And then of course we have to face facts: if they seem to have vanished from the fandom, it's entirely possible they didn't get better, they merely shifted to a different fandom.

It's disheartening how some fandoms attract more of the bad writers and painful cliches though. Example: I love Shugo Chara - but so many times the fandom makes me want to scream and cry with how bad it is.
