my brother was into drugs, my father is an asshole. and my dad gave up on my brother when he needed a dad the most. my dad beat the crap out of him and threw him out on the street.
but thank god, when my brother turned 20, he turned his life around.
i am not in your shoes, but i can feel the pain in your words. i loved my brother soo much. he was older than me, and i just thought the world of him. i still do.
i hope your brother will someday realize that this kind of living sucks, and there is better out there for him. and also, that he has a great sister like you that cares about him. make sure he always knows that.
i'll be thinking of you.
and i'm glad your job went ok...with so much on your mind!

thanks! you are really really sweet. i really appreciate your kind words. someone in another community i am in said she thinks my brother deserves to go to jail...i felt like slapping her! i mean, if it was someone she loved and cared about, how could you just turn your back on them and say "oh well, they did the crime now they can do the time"??? i just don't understand her OR my dad. i would never give up on someone just because they made a mistake. every day people make bad choices. it doesn't mean they are bad people and deserve to be thrown in jail. oh well. i'm glad you replied. it was really nice of you! <3

geez, that is an awful thing to say. this person obviously must have a perfect family that doesn't make mistakes. that would be nice. sheesh.
like i said, don't give up on your brother. you have to stick together to get thru this, or it will all fall apart.
and forget your father. leave him out of this b/c all he will do is hurt all of you.
like i said, i'm there for you. good luck.

i know. it made me really mad that she would say that. its like, ok i guess YOU are perfect and have never done anything wrong. maybe not something illegal, but just something that was really wrong. i told her that so many people every day break the law. i also told her if she has EVER drank alcohol when she was underage she was breaking the law, but i bet she doesn't think about those things, huh? oh well. i haven't talked to my dad since Friday because all he talks about is how my brother can never call him for anything, and how he doesn't want to have anything to do with him. he has been bugging my mom and sister all weekend asking what we are going to do about my brother, and he still refuses to pay half for the attorney's fees. he should pay half, but he won't. its going to cost my mom $1500 just for her attorney to appear in court for my brother. my dad is such a jerk.
