This weekend was soooooooooo packed. Friday was Career Day, which was really fun. I got to meet Shirin Askari, who was on Project Runway BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY she went to UNT! And actually graduated the spring before I got there. From what she said about PR... It sounded completely totalitarian and even though I didn't want any part of it before, I sure as hell don't want to do it now. AAAAAAND I got my picture taken with her. She is tiny and skinny so I look gargantuan and dorky. Anyway my garments didn't get into the fashion show at the end of the day. Alas :( However, a bunch of juniors and seniors were in it AND they took 14 out of... probably 20-something awards, including an entire category and one of the best in show prizes. So I'm still proud of my school.
Yesterday was Scarborough Faire with nakotaco and our friends. I'd never been before and it was totally awesome. I got to ride a fucking elephant. I feel kind of cheated since I didn't get to pet it or talk to it or anything, buuuuuuut it was still a great accomplishment. One step closer to being able to die happy (I still have not seen Modest Mouse in concert, and I am still not a famous designer).
TODAY MARKS THE BEGINNING OF TWO WEEKS OF SHEER HELL.
Monday (4/12): Print/pattern exercise due, spend the rest of the day working on Art History and patternmaking project
Tuesday (4/13): Patternmaking project due, Glee comes back, spend the rest of the day working on Art History and sheer dress project
Wednesday (4/14): Art History assignment due by 9 pm. Spend the rest of the day on sheer dress project and conceptual project, and preparing for Sophomore Review
Thursday (4/15): SOPHOMORE REVIEW which I am freaking out about. Sheer dress project due in sewing. Also need plans, swatches, sketches, and prototypes for conceptual project.
Friday - Sunday (4/16-4/18): NASCAR, spend rest of the weekend on sewing notebook
Monday (4/19): Illustration print/pattern project due
Tuesday (4/20): Sewing notebook due
Wednesday (4/21): Art History quiz on an 80/90-page chapter by 9 pm, MODA meeting about...... something. I think something is due for correction in Illustration too.
Thursday (4/22): First muslin due for conceptual project
hnnnnnnnnnnnnngh my eyes are falling out of my head already 8( the hardest part is I probably won't get to sleep much, but I need it in order to be pretty and happy this coming weekend. sob. I will be taking lots of mini-naps, I think.
